Happy 3rd...err...4th of July & our little roller!
For the 4th of July we really didn't do anything. It's not that we didn't want to, but Brian had to work, and I didn't have the best day, so when he got home in the evening we just tried to relax. The day before, on the third, he actually had the day off, so we headed to Mom Amidon's and Ron's place to visit and put Parker in the pool for the first time. If anyone around here recalls, that Thursday was pretty cool out. We still lathered on the sunscreen on Parker though, and put him in his swim trunks and headed to the backyard to see what he thought of it all. Ron bought one of those inflatable rings for Parker, that has the built in bottom for him to sit in. Brian got in the pool, and then dipped Parker's legs in it before we tried out the ring. The water was definitely cool, but, we thought we'd at least see how he liked the water and next time we are there hopefully it will be warmer out so that the the water is warmer too.
We had burgers from the grill, potato salad, chips and dip, and grilled cabbage and onions to eat! Yum! Parker took a nap, and I set him in the chair. It was the perfect size for him! We had a lot of fun. Besides the 5 of us, we were joined by Craig and Holly. It was nice spending a day with family, as Brian rarely gets any days off. Although we personally celebrated the 4th a day early, I am so grateful we got to do something relaxing as family that weekend!
Here are some of the pictures from that day:
(As the pictures progress you can see Parker's mood change as he figures out the water is cold! Then the sun came out, so we put him in again, and he liked it but the sun was shining in his face, so we took him back out and brought him inside)
Below is one picture from the 4th of July, showing Parker in his swing playing with some toys. This was a good depiction of how our day went (relaxing).
And one last little note, before I close this post, Parker rolled over from back to belly for the first time on Sunday evening the sixth! Brian was luckily home, as he got out of work a little after six in the evening. Parker was on his back, kicking the posts of the toy you see, and rolling on to his side. No biggy there, as he has done this numerous times. He even once rolled on to his belly but only for a split second as his arm was under him and he couldn't get it out, so he just rolled back. This time was different though.
We noticed him rocking on his side, and the next thing we knew he was on his belly with his arms out! He finally rolled over! We were so excited! I snapped this picture of him right afterward. He was smiling because we were making such a big deal of it. Then, I put him back on his back and a minute later he rolled onto his belly, and then straight over to his back on the other side. From back, to belly, to back! We couldn't believe it that he would do this in the same night. We are so excited. Of course, over the span of the last couple of days he has only rolled over a few times, but still, it's exciting! No more laying for a feeding with Parker in bed next to me. It's too dangerous now!

Oops! Shame on me!
I seriously meant to post a month ago, but look at what happens! One day turns to a week, which turns to another week, and here we are a month later and I still haven't posted a single picture from Memorial Day! Sorry. Pretty much this is what my day goes like: wake up and take care of Parker, when he goes down for his morning nap I try to shower and maybe eat some breakfast. When his afternoon nap rolls around I might try to do some stuff around the apt. or whatever. I realize the most time I have is after he goes to bed! So here I am, after two in the morning, writing on here because I can't sleep.
In the next few days I hope to be able to post different things about the present days, and also about the stuff that has happened in the past month. There are hundreds of photos that I wont be able to post because to do it would take forever! I will just try to be better at getting on here, and keeping up with my photo posting so it doesn't build up like this. Sorry!
So here it goes:
Memorial Pictures
Note: This was Dad Waltz's birthday. Brian actually got the day off last minute, so we were able to drive over and be there. We were so excited to make it, and we had a lot of fun!! Parker got to be on a horse for the first time too! The people you will see in the photos (because I wont title individual ones) are: Dad Waltz, Debby, Debby's mother and step-father, Debby's brother, his wife and their little dog, Brian's brother Troy, our sister-in-law Traci, and the three kids: Josh, Dominique and Kenny, plus Debby's daughter Melissa and her daughter (I know her name, but not the correct spelling). Whew! Oh, and of course us three, and the pets. There is the big ol black lab Molly, Dingo (blue heeler), Wolfie (the little orangey colored dog), and Sassafras (a.k.a. Sassy, the little black one). I wont name the horses because I don't know their names. Whew! Okay, here are some pictures:
Unless you are family, I doubt you wanted to see all of these, but hey, it was a good day with a lot of fun moments to capture! We had Parker's hat on him for the start of the day, but then it was getting so hot. We didn't put sunscreen on him because he was under the age limit, and we weren't sure about that whole thing. So, he got a little red on his upper cheeks and nose, but it only lasted a couple of days. Here is a couple pictures of him with his rosy cheeks!
And one last thing, looking at that last picture reminds me that Parker was going through his licking stage at that time. He still loves to have his tongue out, some things never change, but at that time he kept on sticking it in and out to "taste" things and lick them with the end of his tongue. Now he prefers to just shove whatever it is in to his mouth, forget the licking!

Brian's Birthday
I am stealing a few moments to blog really quickly. Parker is napping, but I don't know how long. He has been sort of grumpy lately, and I think it's due to his teething. Poor little fella. Last night he was inconsolable. Nothing was working. Not food, not being rocked, nothing. He kept on arching his back and scooting when I was trying to feed him. Eventually I just held him up while he screamed in my ear. I did sing "You are my Sunshine" to him, and it quited him for a moment or two, but then he started up again. So, my wonderful husband (and no, you can't have him. He's mine!), sat Parker down in front of him on the couch and let him teeth on his finger for a while. Sometimes when he's in pain, he just wants his Daddy. What can I say?
Yesterday was Brian' Birthday! Guess how old he turned?! J/K. Don't! He'll never forgive me for egging you on. He had to work in the morning and through the afternoon, but at least he got someone to cover the store so he had the evening off. It was so nice. Other than Memorial Day, he hasn't had any time off since mid May. We were able to go out to Carrabba's for dinner, and it was so delicious! I just love their bread and the oil/spices you dip it in. Yummy!! Parker was fussy, so we took turns holding him while we ate. We were smart enough to get there at an earlier dinner time so it wasn't quite as busy yet. We requested a booth too, which was good, because I had to feed him while we were there (don't worry. I cover up!).
For Brian's birthday I gave him some new sandals, a dress shirt, and a Johnny Cash c.d. It wasn't much, but his needs/wants are simple. He's not a materialistic guy at all, and I love him for that.
On a side note, Parker and I are going to be gone this weekend. We will miss Brian/Daddy so much! We are being picked up by mom Mom tomorrow and wont be back until Monday. We are going there for the weekend, to visit family and attend my Aunt Dee's baby shower! Yeah!
Note: pictures coming next week. I will have to spend a day putting all the Memorial Day pictures, pictures from this last week, and pictures from this upcoming weekend on here. Sorry!
